As a child I saw that my dad did what he loved. Working in his shop and making hand crafted furniture, for friends, family and his customers. He loved it. You would never know he was working. If you do what you love, you never have to work a day in your life. That’s one of many things I learned from my father. While our business has changed with the times, our core values have stayed the same. Like my dad, we continue our tradition of creating and preserving the memories of families, of furniture that’s that have been passed from one generation to another; gently restoring heirlooms and crafting contemporary creations out of rescued pieces. Our patience and attention to detail does not come at showroom prices- It shows through our expert craftsmanship. In the beginning this company (CCS) focused primarily on interior soft goods such as bedspreads, pillow shams, and dust ruffles. We evolved and Artistic Upholstery branched into upholstery of furniture, prompted in part by (our interior designers) (or Residential Interior Decorating professionals who trusted us) and imported cheap, and inferior made furniture. Many still find it cheaper to redo older pieces that were hand crafted by skilled carpenters that have remained stylish and durable over the years. Our current store with its extensive rich history of its own is located in La Habra, California with a small storefront and a versatile workshop to handle any size and complex work. AU is one of the few remaining family-owned American furniture manufacturers with its original ownership. Two generations of Aguirre men have led the company. I, Victor Aguirre, took over in 2010. We have seen the landscape of our industry change and with it a host of new challenges. As we see a decline in our trade, it only strengthens our resolve to continue what has always been a family tradition built on a love for producing quality work with love and care for our customers and their time honored furniture. It is that drive for quality that our customers have come to trust and expect that keeps them coming back and referring their friends and family to us.. Here’s to another 40 years!
Victor did a great job making a bench cushion to fit my window seat perfectly. He was able to make the angles fit perfectly based on a paper template that I gave him. He is professional, affordable, and delivered in a timely manner.
